Business Development Manager - Digital Publishing Platform

Rhapsody is a successful, print digital and software development agency based in Shoreditch. We work with a range of high profile clients including Bauer Media, Time Inc., Waitrose, Argos, and Boden, as well as the UK's leading contract publishers.

We are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to sell our digital offerings. These include our in-house digital publishing platform, ePublish, native app development, responsive mobile optimised websites, and digital catalogues.

To accelerate business development in this fast growing area we are seeking a highly motivated, successful sales individual with a track record of winning accounts and developing strong client relationships.

As Business Development Manager, you will be expected to:

Drive new business by generating a high quality pipeline of business prospects
Manage sales forecasts, pipelines and ensure that all information is contained within our internal sales system
Sell Rhapsody's digital services including our publishing system ePublish ( as well as other digital services
Research and identify prospective clients within Publishing, Retail, Catalogue, travel, Corporate and Financial Services.
Assist the Head of Digital in responding to RFI's, RFP's and ITT's
Excellent verbal and written skills are mandatory
A strong knowledge of the creative digital landscape

This is an exciting opportunity where your input will be instrumental in the growth of the business. As such we require an experienced, high calibre individual with a track record of selling digital solutions. You will work at either at a marcoms agency,creative digital agency, or software company and will have good understanding of technical and creative production processes.

Essential experience and skills should include but not be limited to:

3-5 years track record working in sales or business development in a digital creative or marcomms agency
Good knowledge of digital services such as mobile app development and responsive web design
Strategic and analytic in approach
Consultative sales approach, demonstrating understanding of clients problems and ability to offer solutions
A proven track record of increasing company turnover with evidence of growing business year on year
Excellent presentation and written skills

Salary and bonus structure will be disclosed to candidates securing a first stage telephone interview, but will be commensurate with the importance of this position, and include salary and commission in the package.
