Do you have outbound events or corporate groups experience in the travel industry? This successful DMC based in London specialises in outbound corporate incentives and events (MICE) and is seeking an experienced events sales executive to join their busy and successful team.
The purpose of the role is to manage the production of conference and incentive business and develop MICE sales with existing and new accounts.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with planning and costing of incentive trips / conferences, producing proposals that meet client specifications.
* Assist with negotiation of competitive rates with suppliers to ensure overall pricing is competitive as well as achieving pre-agreed profit margins for the business.
* Organise, coordinate and oversee provision of services to ensure all aspects of brief are carried out, meeting agreed quality standards.
* Follow up enquiries to customers and suppliers after projects, to ensure maximum effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
* Research and profile new business leads to identify potential sales targets and develop current clients through effective account management.
* Assist with production of sales promotion documents.
* Maintain up-to-date database to generate sales and business opportunities.
* Assist with production of invoices, ensuring prompt settlement to maximise profitability.
* Assist with production of management information, including statistics.
* Work as member of the MICE team, contributing to the departments overall productivity and efficiency.
Skills required:
* Knowledge of MICE/Travel industry with minimum of 3-5 years operational experience.
* Sales oriented with good telephone sales skills.
* Ability to develop effective working relationships.
* Self motivated with ability to learn quickly, work independently and multi-task.
* Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Other languages are an advantage.
* Excellent organisation and administration skills, with attention to detail.
* Personal knowledge of destinations, preferably Japan, highly desirable but not essential.
* Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus, web research.
* The ideal candidate will be proficient in using Amadeus and have a good knowledge of the airline industry (not essential can be trained)
