A leading global company specialising in parts cleaning and waste management has a requirement for a Waste Business Development Manager to cover London and South East Regions.

This position requires proven experience in field sales and territory management. Candidates must be able to demonstrate both. Whilst experience in the waste management industry and/or a waste management related qualification are highly desirable, they are not essential. Relevant training can be provided.

Reporting to the UK Waste Director, the Waste Business Development Manager will generate new business and achieve sales targets through the identification and development of new and existing customers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Achieve and exceed period targets in accordance with all company procedures and codes of conduct

Prospecting - Identify sales opportunities and potential customers

Generate and qualify leads from a variety of s

Cold call prospective customers by phone and in person

Pipeline management - Build sales pipeline, develop and implement sales activity plans across the period and year. Utilisation of the 20-day rollover planner

Make sales calls to new customers and make customer appointments

Respond to sales enquiries by phone, electronically and in person

Follow through with customer appointments. Conduct professional meetings, comprehensively questioning and listening to fully understand customer requirements

Develop and deliver presentations

Arrange / conduct product demonstrations and training as required

Develop and articulate an effective sales proposition

Develop strong business relationships with customers, branch personnel, support functions and peers across the business

Work with branch personnel and support departments to help ensure that customer requirements are met, and any issues are resolved in a timely fashion

Develop and maintain a comprehensive customer database and maintain up to date customer meeting and activity records

Territory development and management. Fully understand the current and potential customer base within your territory. Plan activity to maximise time prospecting and meeting customers

Manage your geographic area with regard travel planning and meetings; being mindful of effective time management and health & safety requirements

Prepare and deliver regular sales reports and management information as required

Participate in sales and corporate events and campaigns as necessary

Participate in sales and business meetings

Monitor competitor activity, market conditions, and product development, reporting/escalating key activity, developments and issues as necessary

Any other duties reasonably requested and which are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

SALARY / PACKAGE

Basic salary is up to £33,000. Realistic first-year earnings based on bonus and commission structures equate to c.£50,000. A £5200 car allowance is available along with benefits that will be relayed in interviews.
