Novus are looking to recruit a Deputy Education Manager at HMP Brixton.

As directed by the OLASS Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for effectively planning and managing the deployment of staff and res to deliver a high quality learning experience. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the highly rewarding area of Offender Learning in a key, management role.

Key Responsibilities

- Effective day to day planning and management of staff and res.
- Deploy staff in line with financial  planning,  high quality delivery and maintenance of an effective pool of staff.
- Ensure the implementation of the quality assurance framework.
- Ensure the safeguarding of learners.
- Recruit, develop and maintain a flexible, qualified and experienced delivery team.
- Deputise for OLASS Manager as required.
- Teach designated hours as required, with a flexible approach to delivering across curriculum areas as needed to fulfil contractual requirements.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Knowledge

- Teaching qualification  - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE.
- Degree or equivalent.
- Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
- Track record of effectively employing quality assurance tools.
- Track record of evaluating and monitoring course provision.
- Current relevant teaching experience.
- Track record of effectively responding to challenging behaviour.
