IT Consultant/Analyst Programmer/Developer (Delphi, SQL, C#, ASP.NET, C++) - Abingdon, Oxfordshire - £37100- £55,700 plus excellent benefits and bonus

My client a leading financial services company are looking to recruit a IT Consultant/Analyst Programmer/Developer (Delphi, SQL, C#, ASP.NET, C++) - Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

The successful IT Consultant/Analyst Programmer/Developer (Delphi, SQL, C#, ASP.NET, C++) will be responsible for the following:-

  • To liaise with client Business Analysts to identify and document systems requirements

  • To analyse current systems and data to identify and understand new requirements, recognising the need for systems enhancements or modifications if necessary.

  • To write technical specifications, and develop solutions using Delphi and SQL Server 2012 as required.

  • To work with large-scale financial applications, configuring the code and database as required, mostly using Delphi and SQL. This process will involve the coding of customised functionality, mathematical risk calculations and creation of ad-hoc SQL code for database manipulation.

  • Occasional coding of new processes, file extracts and web pages; technologies used include Delphi, SQL, XML, C#, ASP.NET and JavaScript.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have at least a first or upper second class degree or equivalent experience.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong analysis, problem-solving and development skills are essential. You will ideally have a background as an IT Consultant, Analyst Programmer or as a Developer with some Business Analyst skills.

  • You should have a very professional manner with excellent communication skills, able to deal with individuals at all levels within financial institutions. Ideally you will have gained prior experience of working in a client-facing environment.

  • You should be aware of the full IT project life cycle, from development through testing and implementation to go live.

  • Delphi or other Object Oriented programming language is strongly preferred (eg C++, C#)

  • A working knowledge of SQL is advantageous

  • Knowledge of the following is useful (but not essential): SQL, XML, C#, ASP.NET and JavaScript

  • Excellent problem solving ability in a mathematical setting is mandatory

  • Development expertise in an Object Oriented programming language is strongly preferred
