Reporting to the Deputy Head of Sport, the post holder will be responsible for providing support to the staff within Sport, including the effective management of performance, conduct, capabilities and development as well as providing support to the Deputy Head of Sport to continuously review and monitor business performance and processes.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing budgets and expenditure for specific sites or services and to support the College’s relationships with external agencies including BUCS, LUSL, Sport England and various Governing Bodies of Sport.
To be considered for this post you must have extensive experience of working within a fast-paced, multi-site environment and have experience of effectively managing and providing leadership for staff.
SALARY ETC:
£34,720 to £42,830 per annum

To work on a 5 day over 7 basis covering a variety of shifts to support the business requirements
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
To operationally implement the delivery of the Sports strategy including Health and Wellbeing across the University within set financial parameters.
Implement and adhere to Operational Excellence in all services and facilities, especially in regard to cleanliness, hygiene and customer service within sports environments.
Day to day programming, implementation and co-ordination of facilities and delivery of events
To support the relationships with external agencies including BUCS, LUSL, Sports Councils and Governing Bodies of Sport.
To promote the benefits of Sport to the broader College community.
To be responsible for the maintenance, production and updating of documentation, such as quality procedures, service level agreements, key performance indicators.
Support the To maximise all management and EPOS and technology systems and contribute to the production of management reports on service delivery
To ensure all areas under control of this post are legally complaint and delivering best practice in respect of health and safety, licencing laws & COSHH.
To be responsible for equipment budget and expenditure for specific sites or services
Manage expenditure by coordinating buying and group economies of scale
Experience of multi-site team management and supervision.
Training and development of staff (including ensuring that all qualified staff are up to date and appropriately and currently qualified)
To update HR records as appropriate.
To ensure effective communication to all team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience in managing sports facilities/activities
Proven experience of managing people
A wide sporting back ground or knowledge
Experience of working in a higher education environment
Experience of running sports clubs
Understanding of Equal Opportunities within the context of a student leisure environment
Excellent communication Skills: Oral Communication & Written Communication
Good IT Capabilities, including knowledge of Microsoft Word & Database Membership system
