A Specialist school based in West London is looking to appoint an ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) Teacher to join their hard working and committed team in January 2016.
Are you an experienced ASD Teacher who is looking for a rewarding role in a specialist school?
The ideal candidate will have previous ASD and SEN (Special Educational Needs) experience and will be an experienced teacher, being familiar with PECS and Makaton is desirable.
You will be able to plan, prepare and deliver lessons that engage ASD pupils and encourage development whether that is academic, social or emotional. You will also need a clear passion to work with children with Special Educational Needs and a drive for each child to achieve is essential. It is also important that you can adapt your lessons and work around any challenges that may occur. You will need to feel confident working with students on a 1:1 basis; classes that will not exceed 8 pupils.
As an individual you will need:
*Clear command of communication
*Reliability and commitment
*Ability to build relationships
In order to be eligible, you must:
*Have a DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
*Have demonstrable experience of working with children or adults with SEN
*Hold a QTS
*Be able to provide 2 recent references
*Be a UK resident or eligible to work in the UK
