My school would like to hear from resilient and inventive Science Teachers who preferably have had some previous experience of teaching children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude in the classroom which encourages their pupils to achieve the high expectations them have set for them. My school requires a Science Teacher who can meet the educational needs of every student and offer lessons based on an up-to-date knowledge of the adjusted curriculum.
Many pupils represent a range of needs and difficulties which encompass behaviour traits which may affect their learning. As an Science Teacher you will be happy to know that this PRU provides a stimulating and happy environment which recognises that education takes place both inside and outside the classroom. The curriculum they provide is based on enhancing the children’s life-skills through a variety of engaging and meaningful activities. Children possess their own unique qualities and the school recognises the importance of teaching to a range of learning styles.
The successful applicants will be expected to:
• Be a passionate teacher and subject specialist of GCSE Science and to be able to motivate and engage all students who range of complex difficulties include SEBD
• Be able to support students, so barriers to learning & participation are removed and good progress is made.
• Have the ability to motivate pupils towards high achievement and successful transition back to mainstream or suitable educational provision.
The successful applicants may also be expected to contribute towards a positive learning culture that promotes success and personal wellbeing.
Experience of working with students in a PRU or Inclusion Unit and have experience of working with students who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties would be desirable but is not essential. If you are a strong practitioner you will be offered considerable professional development opportunities.
