Operational Risk Manager required for our client, a private banking and wealth management organisation with an excellent reputation and legacy business.

The functional responsibility of this role is to assist the Operational Risk team in providing board members, executive management and regulators with independent assurance that all risks are captured, measured, monitored and managed within the business' defined risk appetite and processes adhere to local regulatory requirements.

Key Skills for the role will include:

Strong Operational Risk Experience within Financial Services, ideally private banking / wealth management
Experience of embedding operational risk management with a good understanding of operational risk management concepts, tools and frameworks
Broad knowledge of the private wealth management industry and the products it offers, including understanding commercial drivers, nature of operational processes and potential risks arising
Experience in investigating risk events, identifying root causes and working with the business on improvement actions.
Experience in risk and control self assessmentsKey duties of the role will include:

Assist with maintaining and developing an effective operational risk management framework to enable articulation of a meaningful risk appetite and management of risks in accordance therewith,
Provide clear, effective and timely analysis and advice to colleagues and the Head of Operational Risk enabling clear risk-based assessment and decision-making,
Provide operational expertise on products and the risks associated to them interacting with the committees involved in making product decisions,
Provide expert input and maintenance of relevant risk policies for the business, including training,
Build good working relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders
Provide any training requirements related to operational risk and deliver them on an ongoing basis or as required,
Provide decisions on operational risk issues within signing authority of this role
Provide general assistance for the development of the Risk Function including on-going projects, streamlined procedures, data quality and reporting,
Assist in the preparation of all daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc management reports from Operational Risk in a timely, effective and accurate mannerThis role will be working within the UK Risk & Compliance Team, specifically within the London office however there will be regular liaison and management of their offshore office, in Guernsey.

Candidates who are currently at the Senior Operational Risk level and looking to take a step up, will be considered for this role as well as those who are currently in a management position.
