ROLE:

The jobholder is required to be field based.
To support HCP’s in primary and secondary care settings enabling effective management of their patients with type 2 diabetes. To educate patients and HCP’s in self administration of Bydureon and provide appropriate educational support to key HCP’s.

Key Objectives:
• In selected locations and for selected patients, as agreed with the client: To train patients and HCP’s in the use of Bydureoninjectable device for the self-administration of this prescribed incretin memetic...
• To manage and report any adverse events and refer as appropriate.
• To provide education to HCPs and their patients who are referred to the service.
• To complete all compliance documentation for each healthcare organisation adopting the service.
• To communicate with and develop relationships with key nursing and medical staff at all allocated healthcare organisations adopting the service.
• To put in place service agreements in accordance with Company policies with healthcare organisations for the delivery of the service.
• Report to the nurse manager progress in all allocated sites at a frequency to be agreed.
• To fully document all patient interactions in accordance with Company policies and procedures for patients treated in primary and secondary care.
• Assist in the provision of follow up patient appointments where appropriate.
• Undertake training to include:
o Teaching and validation of the injectable therapy including the device
o Basic Life Support (BLS) and Anaphylaxis, with certification of competency
o Product Quality Complaint (Adverse Event and Product Technical Complaint) reporting
o All service documentation (controlled documentation)
o Continuing professional development
o All Ashfieldhealthcare and relevant client Professional Medical Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Operating Procedures (SeOPs), and other applicable documentation

• To be pro-active and able to work under own initiative, whilst helping to maximise the potential of the team.

• Maintain all equipment and materials that is provided as part of the service in accordance with Company policies.

• Adhere to the Company dress policy.

• Be familiar with Company policies and health and safety legislation as it affects the role of nurses working in these environments.

• Undertake other tasks and assignments which may be required by the nurse manager or Company as discussed and agreed.

• Maintain professional registration, up to date knowledge and evidence base in therapy area.
• Complete all necessary administration in a timely and accurate manner as required, particularly in relation to activity reporting, information feedback and expenses.

• Attend team meetings and conferences as required in order to keep up to date with plans, activities and developments and to exchange knowledge and experience within the team.
• Comply with the Adverse Event policies of Ashfield Healthcare Limited and the client company in respect of all matters relating to Pharmacovigilance, including training requirements and reporting systems.
• Comply with the relevant regulatory guidelines including the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code and the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Professional Status and experience:
Current NMC registration
Minimum of two years post registration experience
Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring service (DBS)
Satisfactory pre-employment medical checks.
Experience in a primary care setting
Recognised qualification in diabetes
